Finding I had Frisian ancestry has explained so much! I thought I was German but my real last name is obviously Frisian. And I see my ancestors before 1700 used the patronymic naming system as well. I want to visit. I hear the area is seen as rural to the Germans, but I am proud of being an educated man who lives in a rural, backward area here in the US! At least now I know my family's love of tea is genetic lol!
